Welcome aboard Pirate DIS 2025 – a treasure trove of design research, creative pictorials, and stories that need to be told. While these submissions were rejected for the ACM DIS 2025 conference, they represent diverse and valuable perspectives that didn't make it through peer review.
For one night only, we celebrate the work that pushes boundaries, challenges conventions, and opens new perspectives – even when they didn't fit neatly into the DIS conference. Every rejected paper tells a story. Every overlooked pictorial sparks imagination. Every alternative approach plants seeds for future work.
Pirate DIS is more than a collection of "what didn't make it" – it's a manifesto for the experimental, the unconventional, and the courageously different. We believe that criticality thrives in the margins and that the most transformative ideas often emerge from the spaces between established categories.

Ready to share your failure? Use the submission form below to claim a slot – no complicated peer review process, no gatekeepers, just pure first-come, first-served piracy.
Whether your work started life as a paper, pictorial, artwork, workshop proposal, or something else entirely, we want to hear about it.
Presentation Guidelines:
Keep your presentations to 8 minutes or less – think of it as your "pieces of eight" moment to shine. We're interested in the ideas, the process – not polished perfection.
No AC's, no committees, no barriers. Just show up, share your work, and join the mutiny against conventional academic gatekeeping.

No peer review, no gatekeepers, just a willing audience to listen to ten 8-minute presentations of papers, pictorials, artworks, and experimental ideas that break the rules. Whether the submissions was rejected, too experimental, or simply didn't fit traditional categories, come watch our pirates present.
